Alexia is a recent graduate from the University of Missouri-Columbia and received a degree in the hardest journalism tract at Mizzou– Convergence Multimedia with emphasis in Emerging Media. She mastered the art of organization within a team and properly communicating ideas, but a creative piece was missing in her search for her career purpose.
Early in her college career, Alexia explored what Mizzou Journalism could offer. She worked at KOMU as a late-night digital reporter, The Missourian as a social desk reporter, and VOX Magazine as a general reporter. Alexia later realized marketing was her true ambition. To Alexia, marketing represented the freedom to be overtly creative and persuasive with a purpose.
During college Alexia worked for the McCann Worldgroup with Spotify as the client in Tokyo, Japan where she helped assess the best campaign to introduce Spotify’s podcast to the ever-changing and multi-defined Japanese Generation Z. She also worked with The Indian Express in New Delhi, India. Alexia reported on American sports for her final fall semester.
She is well-versed in many aspects of traditional and marketing journalism, from pre/post-production to understand a brand’s target audience. Alexia hopes to leave a fresh new mark at MAKE/ and bring a new perspective on the different ways a company or organization can boost their brand recognition while interacting with their current target audience.
