Prima Design | Joining Forces for Children PSA

August 1, 2020

Prima Design wanted to partner with a top-notch central Pennsylvania film company to produce a PSA for Joining Forces for Children, an effort with many partners that provides resources for families that are victims of abuse with the goal being families and children getting the help they need. MAKE/FILMS worked on a creative concept and wrote a script that conveyed the story of abuse through the eyes of bystanders and through the eyes of children, illuminating the hidden and invisible nature of these situations. Writing, casting, location, set design, and cinematography were all carefully considered to make a moving and visually striking cinematic PSA. The PSA will air in both English and Spanish and the translation and bilingual production of narrative elements was also provided by MAKE/FILMS.

When Aaron Dienner and I first talked about this project, we wanted it to really tell a story visually, with a feel and tone that shifted for each part as the kid was either happy or sad. We tried to really shift the camera’s perspective to put the viewer inside their head and really help you feel what they were feeling. We shot on our RED camera with our Sigma Prime lenses.
