Today on International Women's Day we celebrate the hard-working and talented women of MAKE/FILMS, who make up 50% of our crew: Catlin Williams, Lisbet Byler, Grace Wagner, Leticia Kreider, Amanda Ebright, Ashley Dienner, Jordan Velez, and Alexia Diamond.

According to The Center for the Study of Women in Television & Film, "The percentages of women working as directors and writers on independent films continue to climb, reaching recent historic highs in 2019-2020." While promising, we still have a way to go. "Overall, men accounted for 66% and women 34% of all directors, writers, producers, executive producers, editors, and cinematographers working on films selected and/or screened at the festivals in 2019-2020."

Including our wonderful interns Alexia and Jordan, MAKE/ is proud to say half of our crew are women, and we are committed to continue integrating women into vitally important storytelling roles.
